The CEO and co-founder of Yellow Card, Chris Maurice has been named to Stablecon’s Stablecoins Most Influential 2026 list, placing an African fintech executive among global leaders shaping digital finance policy and infrastructure.

The annual list by Stablecon, a global event and media platform focused on the stablecoin ecosystem, recognizes individuals across six regions and multiple categories including issuers, builders and policymakers. Selection is based on a five-factor framework covering influence, impact, innovation, momentum, and peer recognition.

Maurice joins a 2026 cohort that includes president and COO of Coinbase, Emilie Choi; co-founder and CEO of Stripe, Patrick Collison; CEO and co-founder of Paxos, Charles Cascarilla; and chairman and CEO of BlackRock, Larry Fink.

Maurice said, “many years ago, we took a bet on Stablecoins when few people could see what the future of finance would look like.

“Today, being celebrated among the leaders of this industry tells me that bet is paying off. Conviction is the only currency that matters before the world catches up to you.”

According to Yellow Card, Maurice has become a frequent voice in global discussions on stablecoin adoption, delivering keynotes at conferences attended by heads of state and advising ministers and financial regulators.

Under Maurice’s leadership, Yellow Card said it facilitated over $7.5 billion in transactions in the last 12 months.
