Born on May 5, 1976, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria, Dupe Dada was described by her husband as a woman of deep family values, compassion, and love for God and Africa.

The statement read, “It is with immeasurable grief that we, the Dada family, confirm the passing of our wife and sister, Modupe Temitope Dada, aka Dupsy, Mama Africa, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. A true and loving wife and mother indeed.”

He added that his late wife had a special gift of compassion and was committed to her family and Africa.

Mrs. Dada was an accomplished bank executive and Vice President of AFRIMA, and her loss has sent shockwaves throughout the African entertainment industry. “Her passing has left a void that will be impossible to fill,” Mr. Dada shared, acknowledging the impact she had on those who knew her.

The family has announced that a Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 5:00 pm (WAT) at Grace Assembly, Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun-Ikeja, Lagos. A farewell service is scheduled for Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 10:00 am (WAT) at the same venue, followed by a private interment. The services will be live-streamed on AFRIMA’s channels for those who wish to pay their respects remotely.

AFRIMA expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of condolences and love from across the globe.

Mrs. Dada is survived by her husband, Mr. Mike Dada, two children, and siblings.
