QNET, a global leader in direct selling, has received the esteemed Direct Selling Company of the Year Award at the Africa Tech Alliance Forum 4.0 (AfriTech) held in Lagos.

The AfriTech Awards spotlight innovation and excellence in technology across Africa and celebrated QNET for its influential role in enhancing financial inclusion and fostering e-commerce growth on the continent.

Accepting the award, the regional general manager, QNET Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Mr. Biram Fall, commended the AfriTech organizers, while emphasizing the shared commitment to digital transformation in Africa.

Fall highlighted the forum’s theme, “Harnessing Fintech Solutions for Financial Inclusion & eCommerce Growth in Africa,” as central to QNET’s mission. “QNET’s participation in this event further solidified its position as a key player in the region’s digital transformation journey. This award is a tremendous encouragement. We are committed to staying in Nigeria, our biggest market in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are proud to be recognized and look forward to contributing to the region’s development in the years to come,” he stated.

Fall underscored the importance of financial inclusion in empowering individuals and communities, noting that the large population of unbanked adults in Africa presents a major opportunity for economic empowerment. “Financial inclusion is transformative. By providing individuals with essential financial tools, we lay the groundwork for economic independence and help reduce income inequality,” he said.

Addressing the expanding e-commerce sector in Africa, projected to reach $75 billion by 2025, Fall also acknowledged the challenges posed by limited banking infrastructure and a reliance on cash. “Digital payment solutions, such as mobile wallets, make online transactions accessible and build trust in digital platforms. When secure payment options are available, consumers feel more confident engaging in the digital economy, driving business growth and fostering community development,” he added.

QNET’s contributions extend beyond e-commerce; through its FinGreen Initiative, a financial literacy program, the company has equipped over 1,350 young Nigerians with financial management skills to support sustainable livelihoods and generational wealth. Furthermore, QNET’s direct-selling e-commerce model, operational in over 100 countries, has created entrepreneurship opportunities and stimulated local economic growth.

“We believe that by empowering individuals with knowledge and tools, we promote self-sufficiency and resilience within communities,” Fall noted.

Fall, therefore, called for broader collaboration to advance financial inclusion and e-commerce growth across Africa. “Together, we can encourage innovation and build a future where financial tools are accessible to all, creating a financially inclusive Africa,” he stated.

The CEO of Transblue Nigeria Ltd, QNET’s legal partner, Akeem Ajisafe, also spoke at the event, calling for enhanced telecommunications infrastructure to fuel Africa’s digital economy. He praised Nigerian young innovators and highlighted the need for government support to scale technological advancements. “Platforms like AfriTech 4.0 showcase the ingenuity of young Africans who are creating solutions to improve lives across the continent,” Ajisafe remarked.

The AfriTech award not only recognises QNET’s significant role in Africa’s tech ecosystem but also reaffirms its dedication to advancing financial inclusion and e-commerce as drivers of sustainable development across the continent.
