A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie, has extended high praise to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, for his bold and statesman-like role in reconciling with the suspended Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Describing the truce as a “win-win for both parties and a victory for the people of Rivers State,” Dr. Aikoriogie also noted that the peaceful resolution of the long-running dispute between the executive and legislative arms of government in Rivers State marked a significant step toward democratic consolidation.

He also lauded Rt. Hon. Martins Chike Amaewhule, the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, for cooperating in the peaceful accord. “The unity of the legislative and executive arms will not only foster peace but ensure that governance returns to the front burner in Rivers State,” he said.

Dr. Aikoriogie commended President Bola Tinubu for his timely intervention and statesman-like leadership in brokering the peace deal, noting that “this is a clear indication that Nigeria’s democracy is maturing under a president who values unity, dialogue, and institutional respect.”

Beyond Rivers State, Dr. Aikoriogie praised Chief Wike for his unmatched developmental strides in the Federal Capital Territory. He stated that Wike has successfully transformed Abuja into one of the fastest-developing capital cities in the world, elevating infrastructure, aesthetics, and urban planning to global standards.

“Wike’s tenure as FCT Minister is widely adjudged the best in the history of the territory,” he said. “Under his leadership, Abuja has regained its pride of place as a true symbol of national identity and progress.”

Dr. Aikoriogie also commended Wike for his contributions to advancing democracy in Nigeria, stating that the former Rivers State governor has consistently shown an unwavering commitment to dialogue, political inclusivity, and respect for democratic institutions.

He concluded by urging all stakeholders to emulate Wike’s dedication to peace and progress, stressing that, “Nigeria needs more leaders who understand that power is a tool for service, not personal vendetta.”
