Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared Alhaji Aji Kolomi Ajiko as the winner of the primaries ahead of the bye-election for Yobe East Constituency in the National Assembly.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Senator Adamu Gumba, who declared the result in Damaturu, said Hon Aji Kolomi won the election with 191 votes.
Dr kolo defeated his closest contender, Alhaji Mustapha Sheriff Mashidimami, who got 31 votes.
Gumba further disclosed that Alhaji Mohammed Alkali scored only 4 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Aji Kolomi commended the electoral committee over the exercise he described as free and fair.
He urged his fellow contestants to rally round him and give him the needed support that would guarantee the victory of the party at the forthcoming polls.
He assured party supporters that he would uphold the confidence reposed
on him.
Dr Aji called on the PDP supporters of Yobe East senatorial district to come out enmasse to vote him for the Senate.
