The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged the newly elected House of Representatives member for Abuja South federal constituency, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, to ensure an all-inclusive representation in the constituency.

LEADERSHIP had reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Ajiya of the APC, winner of February 25, 2023, House of Representatives seat for Abuja South federal constituency, after he polled 51,502 to defeat the incumbent member, Alhaji Hassan Sokodabo of the PDP, who got 47,376 votes.

The chairman of FCT ALGON, Hon. Danladi Chiya, who is also the incumbent chairman of Kwali area council of FCT, made the call yesterday during a congratulatory visit to the House of Representatives member-elect at his residence in Abaji.

Chiya said there was the need for the elected member to see his victory in the election, as a victory for the entire people of Abuja south, irrespective of tribe, religious, ethnic, and political differences.

He, however, said that he and his colleagues were overwhelmed by the victory of the representative member-elect while describing him as a grassroots politician that started as local government chairman.

“It is obvious that leadership comes from God. And today, the representative member-elect is the only APC candidate that emerged victorious during last Saturday, election in FCT, and I believe he will carry everyone along.

“Besides, it is not easy to unseat an incumbent house of a representative member, but you can see what God has done, as he is now an icon of the FCT and God will not let him down,” he added.
