Chief executive officer of Ekason Group of Companies, Ambassador Eka Dickson A’adu, has hailed the leadership of Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia.

He described Alia’s administration as one that is steadily transforming Benue State through purposeful governance and massive infrastructural development.

In a statement to mark the Governor’s 60th birthday, Amb Eka said Governor Alia had distinguished himself as a leader committed to rebuilding the state through road construction, bridges and people-oriented policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens.

According to him, Governor Alia’s achievements are visible not only in government pronouncements but in the growing network of roads and modern infrastructure spread across different parts of the state.

“When Governor Alia assumed office on the 29th of May, 2023, the streets of Makurdi told a tale of neglect potholed, waterlogged, and weary.

“Yet with the single-minded focus of a man on a divine assignment, he wasted no time.

“He simultaneously flagged off the construction of sixteen township roads within the Makurdi metropolis, a feat that stunned critics into silence and set the tone for what was to become a legacy of unparalleled infrastructure renewal,” Eka added.

He also stated that the projects have since expanded to more than 50 road projects across the state, connecting communities, improving transportation and opening up economic opportunities for residents.

“As a businessman who travels regularly across Benue State, I can confidently say that the roads being constructed in Makurdi, Gboko and other parts of the state are evidence that the Governor means well for the people,” he said.

He further commended the administration for the construction of major underpasses and flyovers in Makurdi and Gboko, describing them as bold steps towards modernising the state’s infrastructure.

According to him, the High-Level flyover in Makurdi and the Gyado Junction underpass in Gboko have become symbols of a new era in Benue State, easing traffic congestion and improving commercial activities.

Amb. Eka also praised Governor Alia for extending development beyond the state capital through the construction of roads linking local government headquarters to Makurdi.

He particularly highlighted the ongoing reconstruction of the Oju-Awajir road, noting that the project would reconnect communities that had suffered years of poor access and isolation.

“This is governance with a conscience,” he stated.

He therefore pledged his continued support for Governor Alia and endorsed his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

“Benue State cannot afford to interrupt a journey that has only just found its stride. The roads being built must be completed, the bridges maintained and the vision sustained for the benefit of future generations,” he said.
