Former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has opened the door to a potential move to the Premier League this summer, following initial contact with his representatives.

This development will put several top English clubs on alert, with Chelsea reportedly among those keen on his services.

Chelsea are understood to be compiling a shortlist of candidates for their managerial position and are aware of Alonso’s newfound availability.

The former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder has garnered significant praise for his work at Leverkusen.

Another name on Chelsea’s radar is Andoni Iraola, currently managing in the Premier League, who has expressed a desire to remain in the league. As of now, no definitive decision has been made by any club regarding their managerial future.
