A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Emerging Progressives Leaders’ Forum (EPLF), has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over the nomination of Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor of Kano State, describing the decision as both bold and strategically significant.

In a statement signed by its national coordinator, Hafiz Idris, the group said the choice demonstrates a strong grasp of Kano’s political landscape and the need for seasoned leadership to enhance governance and ensure stability.

Garo, who previously served as Commissioner for Local Government Affairs in Kano State, was praised by the forum for his extensive public service experience, administrative competence, and consistent commitment to party principles. The group said his record in office and contributions to the growth of the APC in Kano mark him out as a reliable and tested political figure.

The EPLF further noted that his emergence is expected to ease tensions within the party and encourage greater unity among stakeholders as political activities intensify.

“Hon. Murtala Sule Garo is a grassroots politician with vast experience and deep connection with the people. His choice will not only consolidate governance but also reposition the APC for greater strength and unity in Kano State,” the statement read.

The group also called on party members to close ranks and support him stressing that unity among stakeholders is essential for sustaining progress and achieving collective political objectives.

It expressed optimism that the partnership between Governor Yusuf and Garo would usher in what it described as a new phase of stability, inclusiveness, and more effective governance in Kano State.
