A political support group under the auspices of the National APC Supporters Centre, has said Nigeria needs the support of foreign and local-based Nigerians to succeed in all sectors of the economy.

The national coordinator of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Batati, made this known yesterday in Abuja after the group appointed a US-based ambassador, Julius Gbolahan Motajo, as Patron of the United States.

Balati, who presented an appointment letter to Motajo, said he was appointed based on his willingness to deploy his support base for the benefit of Nigeria.

He tasked Motajo to deploy his connection in the US to attract investors to Nigeria just as he called on him to technically draw support for the Nigerian youths.

Balati also urged him to use his position to project the activities of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the US and to embark on an aggressive drive for the group in the US.

Also, a national director of the group, Dr. Aminu Abubakar Gwandu, expressed gratitude to Motajo for his contributions and support to the group and expressed optimism that he would deliver on his mandate.

He however, called on Tinubu to look inward for people that would help him to actualise his aims and objectives and urged Nigerians to support his government.

Motajo, while responding, noted that he has been in the US for the last 35 years, saying his experience in the music and entertainment industry would help him to drive the group to the US.

Matojo, who said he would not disappoint the group and Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora, appealed to them to give Tinubu time to actualise his programmes and policies.
