President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday secured a decisive victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held at L2 Ward, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, polling a total of 4,996 votes.

The exercise featured two aspirants for the APC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election — President Tinubu and businessman Sterlyn Osifo — following the party’s decision to adopt a direct primary to select its flag bearer.

The election, which began around 8 a.m., was conducted under tight security and witnessed a large turnout of party members and supporters across the ward.

Party stakeholders and dignitaries present at the venue included Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the immediate past Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Finance, Wale Edun; APC Lagos State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi; and Kola Peregrino, among others.

President Tinubu arrived at about 11:35 a.m., after the accreditation of voters had been concluded.

Speaking earlier at the venue, APC Lagos State Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise, describing it as smooth and crisis-free.

“The rewards of your loyalty to the party will yield proceeds in due course. Thank you for the wonderful support for our president and APC,” Ojelabi said.
