The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has announced the constitution of three committees to oversee its State Congress scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The congress is expected to hold at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, by 8:00 p.m.
A statement issued by the Kano APC Spokesperson, Hon. Ahmad Aruwa, said the committees were set up to guarantee due process and transparency.
According to him, the committees were constituted “to ensure a transparent, credible and well-coordinated congress process in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines.”
The Congress and Accreditation Committee will be chaired by Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi, with Hon. Muhammad Jamu Yusuf as secretary, alongside other members drawn from the party’s ranks.
The publicity committee will be led by Muhammad Garba, as chairman and Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa as secretary, while the security committee will be chaired by Col. Malami with senior security and government officials as members.
Aruwa said the party leadership “has full confidence in the committees’ capacity to ensure a peaceful, orderly and successful congress.”
He also called on members and stakeholders to support the process, urging them “to cooperate with the committees and conduct themselves in a disciplined and responsible manner throughout the exercise.”
The party further reiterated “its commitment to strengthening internal democracy and consolidating unity within the party in Kano State.”
