A former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, has called on members and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to refrain from defending what he described as shortcomings of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ahmad made the remark in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday night amid the ongoing face-off between INEC and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He cautioned party loyalists against offering blanket support to the electoral body, stressing the need for objectivity and accountability in the country’s democratic process.
The statement comes as tensions continue to rise between INEC and the ADC over recent developments involving the party, which have sparked reactions across the political landscape.
