Founder of Overflow Chapel in Sapele, Delta State, Archbishop Iboyi Godday, has rejected his appointment as a member of the Christian Pilgrim and Welfare Board by the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration in the state.
A statement signed by Tetsola Nelson, permanent secretary (State Protocol Matters), for secretary to the state government, said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the appointments of Apostle Sylvanus Okorote, chairman, Rev. Father Christopher Ekabo, secretary, Arcbishop Godday Iboyi and four others to serve in the said board as members.
But in a swift reaction in a statement, yesterday, the spiritual leader of Okpe Kingdom, stated that the appointment was done without his consent
While describing the appointment as insulting, he said he was not interested and has thus rejected the appointment.
“My attention has been drawn to a publication flying round on the social media that l have been appointed as a member of Delta State Christian Pilgrim and Welfare Board which was without my consent.
“I am using this medium to inform whoever made such insulting appointment that l am not interested and it should be considered rejected,” he stated.
