Nigerian Army has promised necessary operational measures to ensure farmers in Zamfara State are protected this rainy season.

It donated educational materials to orphans and underprivileged pupils in various primary schools in the state.

The Bridge Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, gave the assurance at the distribution of school materials to 400 orphans and needy to mark the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024 in Gusau, the state capital.

He said the Nigerian Army would no longer fold its arms watching criminal elements disrupt the legitimate activities of innocent people in the state.

The brigade commander also urged the civil community to discourage informants from aiding bandits by reporting military activities. Instead, he encouraged these elements to repent and surrender their arms to restore peace.

He, therefore, appealed to the public for support and cooperation by providing the Army with vital information to help restore normalcy across the state.

The brigade commander said the day was dedicated to honouring the memory of the fallen heroes who selflessly laid down their lives to protect the nation and its citizens.

He said that in commemoration of this day, the 1 Brigade Nigerian Army in Gusau also undertook various humanitarian activities, ranging from the distribution of medical consumables, writing materials, clothing, and footwear to orphans, the less privileged, and other needy individuals in the state.
