Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly preparing to offload Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare this summer, just one season after his high-profile transfer to the club, following their relegation from England’s top flight.

The 25-year-old arrived at Molineux last summer from Belgian side KRC Genk in a deal believed to be worth €24 million. However, his maiden campaign in the Premier League proved to be a significant struggle, as he only managed to net three times in 28 league appearances for the Old Gold.

With Wolves now bracing themselves for life in the Championship, the club is understood to be open to allowing Arokodare to depart on a temporary basis. According to talkSPORT, a loan move is the most probable scenario this summer, as the Midlands outfit acknowledges that securing a permanent buyer could be challenging given the striker’s underwhelming form in English football.

Currently valued at approximately €18 million, the Nigeria international still has time on his side to revitalise his career elsewhere, but his long-term prospects at Wolves appear increasingly precarious.
