Arsenal topped the revenue charts for women’s football in 2025, according to an analysis by Deloitte.
The 2025 Champions League winners moved from second to first place, generating £21.5 million—an increase of 43% compared to 2024.
Treble winners Chelsea followed closely, generating £21.3 million, pushing last year’s leaders Barcelona into third place.
Overall, the top 15 clubs achieved a record £132.8 million in revenue, representing a 35.5% increase from the previous year.
English clubs continue to lead for the second consecutive year, with eight Women’s Super League teams making the top 15.
However, following a record-breaking 2023-24 season, the study found that five teams reported a decline in attendance year-on-year.
Arsenal’s memorable victory over Barcelona in the Champions League final is just one factor contributing to the club’s profitable year. The Gunners have made significant investments in understanding their fanbase and achieved the highest attendance in the Women’s Super League, surpassing 35,000 on five occasions.
They have also implemented tiered pricing to promote repeat attendance, helping them achieve the highest matchday revenue across all 15 clubs.
Chelsea experienced the largest revenue growth, soaring by 90% compared to 2024, largely driven by generating £16 million in commercial revenue—more than any other team analysed.
Similarly, although Barcelona suffered defeat in the European final, they still secured a domestic treble in Spain.
Deloitte’s knowledge and insight lead, Jennifer Haskel, attributed the rising revenue in women’s football to both creativity and clubs’ efforts to meet the needs of their developing fanbases.
“The women’s game is starting to carve its own path through new and expanded brand partnerships, innovative ticketing strategies, and a commitment to understanding the evolving fanbase,” she noted. “The topline growth reflects the innovation and commercially minded approach within some of the sport’s leading markets.”
