‘Aso Ebi Diaries’ Hits Cinemas In Glamorous Premiere

The official premiere of Laide Daramola’s highly anticipated film ‘Aso Ebi Diaries’ was a glamorous and colourful affair, drawing top Nollywood stars, socialites, and partygoers to a star-studded event that celebrated culture and fashion in grand style.

Guests dazzled in stunning, custom-made Aso Ebi outfits, many designed by Shadiat Aso Oke, capturing the vibrant essence of Nigerian celebration.

Laide Daramola, the film’s producer, turned heads with her impeccable fashion sense, taking center stage at the event.

The film boasts an impressive cast lineup, including Shaffy Bello, Bukky Wright, Nancy Isime, Kunle Remi, Chizzy Alichi, Bukunmi “KieKie” Adeaga-Ilori, Daniel Etim Effiong, Daniel Lloyd, Kalu Ikeagwu, and Queen Salawa Abeni, among others.

Directed by Biodun Stephen, Aso Ebi Diaries is more than just a movie—it’s a tribute to the cherished Aso Ebi tradition, filled with style, drama, and unforgettable moments. “This film is produced as a tribute to Aso Ebi culture, complete with its emotional depth, fashion, and the social fabric it represents,” said Stephen.

Set in modern-day Lagos, the story takes viewers on an emotional rollercoaster, exploring themes of friendship, love, betrayal, resilience, and the enduring bond of family. It paints a rich, authentic picture of Nigerian culture and the vibrant social dynamics that many will find relatable.

Laide Daramola, founder of Lady Laide Studios, described the film as more than entertainment. “Aso Ebi Diaries is a movement. It’s about our community, our tribe, and our unity. This movie is taking over the cinemas. It’s for the culture—it’s a celebration of us.”

Co-produced by Laide Daramola and Taiwo Adebayo, with a compelling script by Frances Okeke, Aso Ebi Diaries runs for 120 minutes and is distributed by Cinemax Nigeria Limited. It officially opened in cinemas across Nigeria and Ghana on Friday, April 18, 2025—offering audiences a colorful celebration of love, unity, fashion, music, friendship, and family.
