A training and capacity-building company, Jet Aviation Consultants, has trained senior Ministry of Defence staff members working at the Nigerian Army on financial management.

The MD/CEO of Jet Aviation Consults, Air Vice Marshal Gbolahan Idowu (rtd), said the training, which is  “customised training solutions” is to empower the officials and it is tailored to their unique needs.

Idowu said the firm is a training and capacity-building company committed to helping individuals and organisations achieve their full potential through effective learning and development.

He added that the company specialises in empowering individuals, teams, and organisations to soar to new heights of success.

In his closing remarks, the chief of accounts and budget, Major General  A.A. Fayemiwo, said the training is in line with the chief of army staff (COAS) philosophy which is “to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly  motivated force.”

He said this is towards achieving its constitutional responsibility within a Joint Environment, and stressed that the training has renewed the synergy between the military and civilian staff of the Ministry of Defence with an overriding commitment to optimising the command of the COAS as well as building a better security architecture for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Fayemiwo said the training has appraised senior Ministry of Defence (MoD) staff with contemporary policy issues of the Federal Government of Nigeria and other work-related thematic issues.

The chief of accounts and budget, who was represented said the training covered six lectures and provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments and best practices in the field of public finances and healthy living.

He added that the lectures helped participants understand the changes that have taken place in the public service in Nigeria with the introduction of the new Public Service Rules 2021.

He revealed that the new performance management system and the rewards in public service, as well as the subconscious intuitive knowledge of the workplace environment, were covered.

Fayemiwo said the training was concluded with a lecture on “Hypertension, The Silent Killer: Imperative for Senior Civil Servants” bearing in mind their age and the overwhelming issues to contend with both in the office and various homes.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the host and commandant Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA), Major General Julius Osifo, revealed that NASFA is the training arm of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps with the primary responsibility of training personnel in military pay duties, records, and clerical duty.
