A passionate appeal has been made to the Nasarawa State government to come to the aid of the Badna community, which shares boundary with Ado, the headquarters of Karu local government, Nasarawa State.
The community which is inhabited by thousands of people under the leadership of Chief Danjuma Kaura, are tucked in between the outskirts of Kurudu in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Karu council of Nasarawa State.
The challenge faced by the community, according to their spokesperson, Mr. Jimoh Eneye, is lack of access roads to the state capital Lafia and the rest of Nasarawa State.
“The only road through which one can access the community is Nyanya and through Kurudu Phase 5, both in the FCT. This access road is always in a terrible state and not motorable, especially during the rainy season,” Eneye said.
He said the community is weary of tasking themselves heavily to hire graders to give the roads a sort of facelift.
Having met with a member of the House of Representatives Hon. Jonathan Gaza, representing Karu, Keffi, Kokona Federal Constituency, who promised to help by drawing the attention of the government; but insists, a thoroughfare to Lafia and the rest of the state is upmost in their list of demands.
