Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele has urged his constituents to support him and ensure he emerges victorious in the 2027 senatorial election, as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission, promising to upscale and strengthen the quality of representation he offers Ekiti State’s citizens at the Senate.

Bamidele also pledged to fortify the beneficial and mutually inclusive synergy he has built with Governor  Biodun Oyebanji to transform the state in terms of infrastructure, unity of purpose and expansion of politics of solidarity that can uplift the lives of the citizens as the All Progressives Congress’ Senatorial Candidate in Ekiti Central in the impending 2027 elections.

The Senate leader pledged Ado Ekiti during the signing of the INEC Nomination Forms as the APC’s 2027 Senatorial Candidate by Ward Chairmen across the 57 wards in the five Local Government Areas in the Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

The forms of the House of Representatives’ candidates in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1, Hon. Sola Fatoba, and his counterpart in Constituency II, Hon. Oladapo Karounwi, were also signed by the party leaders.

Bamidele, who was represented by his senior legislative assistant, Hon. Gbenga Banji, praised the party leadership for their sustained solidarity since about two decades ago, when he began his political career in the state, describing this as the source of inspiration and a catalyst for delivering the expected quality of representation for his constituents.

The ranking senator characterised the consistent solidarity Ekiti people are demonstrating for the progressive party as amplifying their interest in good governance, saying the massive votes they delivered for Governor Oyebanji in the recent governorship election further buttressed the fact that the state is solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.

The APC chieftain added that he has been fortunate to hold a pivotal position in the Senate as a ranking Senator, promising to deploy these connections to rally support for Oyebanji’s government and to promote good governance across his Senatorial District.

He promised to rev up the delivery pedal in his legislative work and work harder to attract and retain federal presence in the state, if given the lever of power to return to the Senate in 2027.

“Let me thank my Constituents for standing firmly by me since I started this journey close to two decades ago. In fact, your solidarity, prayers, and strong support were an inspiration to me. I have promised never to disappoint nor betray the confidence you have in me as your representative in conduct and performance.

“I know as a leader and elected official that there is a minimum standard of performance one can offer for his people to attract accolades. I am not unaware of this. I will work hard always to meet this threshold and even surpass it to show that I am a leader who believes in the people.’’
