Talksport reports that the Spanish giants want to capitalise on his lack of game time to persuade him to dump Stamford Bridge for Catalonia at the end of the current campaign.
Xavi’s side has their midfield packed with the likes of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Oriol Romeu, Fermín López and İlkay Gündoğan, meaning that Chukwuemeka, who is eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level, will have to fight to break into the team, if he joins.
It, however, remains to be seen whether the Blues will be willing to sell him to get funds to reinforce the squad, particularly in attack, where they are looking to sign a striker.
