Bauchi Agency Orders Removal Of Illegal Campaign Posters

Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA) has directed the immediate removal of illegal billboards and campaign posters from streetlight poles and structures in the state.

The director-general of the agency, Engr Abdulrahman Mai-Auduga, who issued the directive during a chat with journalists in Bauchi, said if the order was not acted upon, its enforcement team would be forced to pull down all illegal posters and billboards.

He said the removal of unnecessary billboards and campaign posters across major locations in Bauchi is part of urban renewal and regulatory cleanup initiatives to address unauthorised structures in the state.

On his part, the managing director, Bauchi State  Physical Planning and Development, Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad called on Bauchi residents to adhere strictly to all physical planning guidelines and regulations put in place by the state government.

He noted that, protecting people and the environment from harm was a social obligation and a right of every citizen.

On his part, the representative of Bauch State Roads Traffic Agency (BAROTA), Zubairu Mato expressed deep concern over the increasing cases of motorists driving against traffic and violating traffic rules in the state.

He warned that, the agency will prosecute offenders before a Mobile Court and impose penalties as stipulated by law.
