The Bauchi State commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, in collaboration with Al-Badar International Foundation and Makkah Specialist Hospital, Bauchi, has organised a free eye medical outreach for residents of Alkaleri local government area in Bauchi State.
The commissioner explained that the outreach provided vital support to the community, including free eye treatments, complementary eyeglasses, eye care consultations, and free registration for cataract surgeries.
The initiative, which took place yesterday at the Alkaleri Local Government Secretariat, targeted 500 children and less privileged individuals in the Alkaleri community.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the commissioner represented by Abubakar Musa Madaki, personal assistant to the state governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, stated that the outreach is an extension of a similar programme previously conducted in the Duguri and Gwana districts of Alkaleri local government area.
