Bauchi State government has released relief materials to the victims of communal clashes in Sansan and Garin Babbaji villages of Zaki local government area.
At the ceremony, the deputy governor, Auwal Jatau, emphasised the need for rural communities to remain law-abiding and embrace peace and unity in order to sustain peaceful coexistence.
He explained that the distribution of the relief materials to affected victims is part of the state government’s immediate effort to alleviate their suffering.
Jatau assured that the state government will not relent in working towards ensuring mutual understanding and respect amongst the different communities across the state.
On his part, the director general of the State Emergency Management Agency, Masud Aliyu, appreciated the state government for the donation of the relief materials, which he said will alleviate the suffering of the victims.
The chairman of Zaki Local Government, who expressed concern over the incident, assured that the council will do everything possible to avert the recurrence of the incident not only in Sansani and Babaji villages, but across the entire communities of the local government.
