Action Alliance (AA) has unveiled a digital membership portal to register its members.

The party described it as a major step toward transparency, inclusivity and grassroots engagement.

The innovative platform, launched  in Abuja, allows Nigerians to register as party members online and obtain instant digital membership cards, eliminating the traditional bureaucratic delays associated with manual party registration processes.

Speaking on the development, the national chairman of the party, Barr. Udeze Kenneth, described the launch as a historic milestone for the party and a bold move to place citizens at the centre of Nigeria’s political process.

“Today marks a historic moment for Action Alliance. We are not just building a political party; we are building a movement that puts the people first,” he said.

According to him, the new system reflects the party’s commitment to transparency, accountability and grassroots participation, noting that any Nigerian with access to a mobile phone can now easily join the party.

“This platform is a testament to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and grassroots participation. Every Nigerian with a phone can now be part of this great movement,” he added.

The portal, developed by Augustine Ugbede Thomas, lead developer at Stinet Digital, a Nigerian technology company, introduces a number of digital innovations designed to simplify membership registration and verification.

Among its key features is the instant digital membership card, which is generated immediately after registration and embedded with a unique QR code that can be scanned for verification during party events, rallies or voting exercises nationwide.

Unlike traditional party membership systems that rely on physical cards and lengthy administrative processes, the new platform uses phone number-based authentication, allowing members to register and log in easily without complicated usernames or passwords.

Party officials said the system also allows real-time verification of members, enabling party administrators and the public to confirm membership status instantly using a phone number or National Identification Number ,NIN.

The platform has been designed to cover all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with detailed location mapping down to Nigeria’s 774 local government areas and polling units, ensuring nationwide participation.

The developers explained that the integration of NIN verification adds an extra layer of security, helping to prevent multiple registrations while strengthening the credibility of the party’s membership database.

The portal also features live membership counters that display real-time statistics of registered members across the country, encouraging wider participation and transparency within the party.

For members, the platform offers several benefits including instant access to digital membership cards, voting rights in party primaries, invitations to party events, and the ability to update personal profiles online at any time.

Party administrators, on the other hand, will have access to a comprehensive dashboard that allows them to search for members by name, phone number, NIN or location, as well as export membership data for planning and analysis.

According to the party, the system will significantly reduce operational costs associated with printing and distributing physical membership cards while improving data accuracy and grassroots mobilisation.

Lead developer of the platform, Augustine Ugbede Thomas, said the project was designed to make political participation easier and more accessible to Nigerians regardless of their location or digital literacy level.

“I am deeply honored to build this platform for the Action Alliance. My vision was to create a system that is simple enough for every Nigerian to use, yet powerful enough to manage millions of members,” he said.

Describing the project as “technology serving democracy,” Thomas added that the platform is scalable and capable of supporting millions of users as the party expands its membership base nationwide.

He said future upgrades to the system would include SMS notifications for party events, digital campaign tools, event registration systems with QR code check-ins, payment integration for membership dues, and a mobile application for easier access.

The Action Alliance said the digital portal represents its broader vision of modernising Nigeria’s political processes and encouraging greater youth participation in governance.

Party leaders expressed optimism that the platform would strengthen internal democracy, improve transparency and help reconnect political parties with grassroots supporters.

“This system represents the future of political participation in Nigeria, transparent, inclusive and accessible to every citizen with a phone,” the party stated.
