Bauchi State government has awarded a contract valued at over N9 billion for the construction of 38.65 kilometres of road infrastructure. The project comprises eight link roads connecting various communities across the state.

The commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof Titus Saul Ketkukah, stated this at the weekend after the end of the year State Executive Council (SEC) meeting in Bauchi where he revealed that more roads would be constructed, rehabilitated or upgraded in the 2026 financial year.

He explained that all the nine road projects were awarded to the contractors from the 2025 supplementary appropriation budget which was recently passed by the State Legislature and assented to by Governor Bala Mohammed.

Also speaking at the briefing to the press, the Special Economic Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Yahuza Adamu said that the state government resolved to recapitalize the Yankari Saving & Loans Ltd with the sum of N900 million for the bank to expand its services for the general well-being of Bauchi people

The Economic Adviser explained that the amount is not only enough, but would also enable the bank to expand and impact positively on the lives of the people through the normal banking services.

Hon. Yahuza Adamu also submitted to the SEC which was ratified on behalf of the Commissioner of Information and Communication, a memo for the digitisation of the state radio and television stations, BRC and BATV that have 31st December, 2025 as the deadline for completion.
