Bauchi State government has constructed a modern cottage hospital in Duguri Town, Alkaleri local government area of the state.

Assessing the level of the facility provided to the hospital, the state commissioner for health, Dr Sani Muhammad Dambam, expressed delight with the establishment of the healthcare facility by Governor Bala Mohammed, adding that the hospital would provide the people of the area easy access to healthcare.

He explained that the Bauchi State Hospital Management Board is saddled with the responsibilities of maintaining operational standards of all healthcare facilities across all the 20 local government areas of the state and promised to ensure a good working environment in the Cottage Hospital Duguri for the benefit of the people.

The commissioner noted that medical drugs have been provided for the smooth take-off of the hospital while it would be fully functional by January 2025.

He enjoined the entire management of the hospital and the community of Duguri town to protect the health facility from vandalisation to achieve the set objectives.

In his remarks, the village head of Duguri, Alhaji Ibrahim Baba, appealed to the state government to consider the full employment of casual health workers working in various healthcare centres in the area to the hospital to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the local government area and the state at large.
