The Bauchi State government and Resident Cement Factory Limited have agreed to establish a N10 million-capacity cement factory in Gwana district of Alkaleri local government area of the state.

To this end, the state governor, Bala Mohammad has met with a delegation from the company at the Government House to finalise the modalities.

Governor Bala said that the proposed agreement is in line with his administration’s commitment towards unbundling the available natural resources in the state to create more job opportunities as well as generate more revenue.

He added that the establishment of the cement factory is coming at a time when the state government is determined to provide the needed human capital who can participate fully in oil and gas exploration.

Governor Bala explained that efforts were on to secure more funds to settle compensation to land owners in Alkaleri as the area has been declared as an industrial zone of the state and for the north east region.

He assured the investors on the security of their investment and described Bauchi State as the most peaceful state in the northeast.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and group chairman of the company, Dr Abbas Waziri said about 10,000 people have been targeted to be employed in the factory when established in addition to revenue generation for the state.
