To cushion economic hardship on some evicted traders, the Bauchi State government has disbursed N100,000 each to former tenants of the Eagle-Sino Shops Complex.

LEADERSHIP reports that traders formerly occupying shops and spaces at the complex near Bauchi Unity Park were evicted to allow the reconstruction of the facility.

The cheques were presented to the traders by the commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Ahmed Kawule, who said the intervention underscored Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to revitalising the state’s economic landscape and supporting small-scale entrepreneurs.

Kawule reassured the beneficiaries that the government had not abandoned them, noting that plans were underway to integrate them into future development initiatives.

He also urged them to remain peaceful, patient, and law-abiding as the government works to create more opportunities.

The beneficiaries, speaking through their representative, Dauda Sulaiman Galaje, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.

They appealed to the state government to consider them in the allocation of new shops once development projects are completed.
