The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has suspended two permanent secretaries and a chief executive officer (Account) from the state service for serious misconduct.
The permanent secretaries suspended were Sa’idu Abubakar, the immediate state accountant general (AG), Danjuma Garba, and Bala Ibrahim Sabo, the chief executive officer (Account).
The suspension was considered during the commission’s 1st extraordinary sitting held on Monday, September 30, effective September 27th, 2024.
The commission’s public relations officer, Saleh Umar, said in a press statement yesterday that it reviewed the recommendations and other available documents on the affected officers submitted by the office of the state head of civil service during the session.
According to the PRO, the office of the head of service recommended appropriate disciplinary actions against the misconducting officers.
He said the commission suspended the officers under section 0331 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations to give room for further investigation since the matter is currently with the relevant authorities.
He explained that the suspended officers are currently attached to the office of the secretary to the state government, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Natural Resources, respectively.
The chairman of the commission, Alh. Abubakar Usman remarked during the session, warning the state public/civil servants to adhere to the rules of engagement in the conduct and discharge of their responsibilities.
Alh. Abubakar Usman then reiterated the commission’s efforts and determination to sanitise the state civil service of bad eggs.
