National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has been enjoined to organise refresher training for relevant and newly employed staff members of various ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in Bauchi State.

The state commissioner for lands and survey, Amina Mohammed Katagum, made the plea at a quarterly meeting on the GRID-3 update held at her ministry in Bauchi, the state capital.

GRID-3 is the acronym for Geo-referenced Infrastructure Demographic Data for Development.

Katagum said although circulars had been sent to the MDAs to forward additional/new geo-referenced facilities, utilities and services that may have not been provided on the GRID-3 programme, the responses were poor, indicating that the MDAs may not have derived adequate skills from the previous training.

She urged the trainees to be more responsive to the demand placed on them, and update information on any new facility, utility and services provided by their MDAs all year round by the Bauchi State Geo-Information System (BAGIS).
