Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed, has cautioned traditional institutions against colluding with criminal elements, warning that such action pose a serious threat to peace and security in the state.

The governor stated this while receiving the Emir of Duguri, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, at his residence in Yelwan Duguri, his home town on Sunday.

He stressed that traditional rulers play a critical role in intelligence gathering, early warning mechanisms, and community policing, describing them as indispensable partners in maintaining security.

Mohammed commended the people of Duguri and neighbouring communities for sustaining peaceful coexistence, noting that the area remains a symbol of unity, tolerance, and communal harmony.

He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the State, emphasising that lasting peace can only be achieved through effective collaboration between the government, traditional institutions, and the public.
