Bauchi State government will restore electricity supply to rural communities where natural disaster destroyed critical installations.
The commissioner for power, science and technology, Modibbo Abdulkadir, disclosed this when he led members of the Task Force On Power Renovation on inspection visit to some affected areas in the three senatorial zones of the state.
Represented by one of the members of the committee, Adamu Babangida, he said broken poles, cables and transformers will be provided for the communities.
Some residents of Birshi-Gandu, one of the communities to benefit from the scheme, said they have been living a different life since wind destroyed their electric installations, adding that local businesses have been crippled.
The committee has identified communities to benefit in two local government areas – Bauchi and Ganuwa. The exercise is expected to cover similar communities across the state.
