Beau Starr, Known For ‘Goodfellas’ And ‘Halloween,’ Dies At 81

Veteran actor Beau Starr, known for his roles in ‘Goodfellas’ and the ‘Halloween franchise’, has died at the age of 81.

His brother, Mike Starr, confirmed to TMZ that Starr passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 24 in Vancouver. Describing him as “very unique and special,” Mike noted that his older brother played a major role in raising and influencing him.

Tributes have poured in from colleagues and fans, including Christopher Serrone, who shared the news publicly. Serrone, who portrayed young Henry Hill alongside Starr in ‘Goodfellas’, remembered him as a man who lived a “rich and meaningful life,” highlighting his roles as a father, grandfather, actor, and former athlete.

Born in New York City in 1944, Starr initially pursued a football career. He spent time on the New York Jets’ practice squad and later played in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats before transitioning into acting.

He began his acting journey on stage in the 1980 production of ‘The Set-Up’ at the American Theatre of Actors, before moving into television. Starr appeared in numerous popular series, including ‘Due South’, where he played Lieutenant Harding Welsh, as well as guest roles on shows like ‘NYPD Blue’, ‘The A-Team’, ‘Knight Rider’, and ‘Hill Street Blues’.

On the big screen, he debuted alongside Gilda Radner and Gene Wilder in the 1982 comedy Hanky Panky. He later appeared in ‘Summer School’, ‘Cinderella Man’, and most memorably in ‘Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers’ and ‘Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers’.

Starr’s career spanned decades across film, television, and theatre, leaving behind a legacy defined by versatility and dedication to his craft.
