Benue: APC Aspirant, Bosua, Condemns Killings In Constituency, Calls For Urgent Action To Protect Lives

An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Kwande East Constituency of the Benue State House of Assembly, Dr Eunice Hembafan Bosua, has condemned the recent wave of killings and violent attacks that have claimed innocent lives across several communities in the constituency.

In a statement released Thursday, the aspirant described the situation as heartbreaking and unacceptable, noting that no community should have to live under the constant threat of violence and insecurity.

“I am deeply saddened and outraged by the continued loss of innocent lives in our constituency. Families are grieving, communities are living in fear, and our people deserve far better than this,” the statement read.

Bosua extended heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and to those who have been injured or displaced as a result of the attacks. She urged security agencies to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, stressing that those responsible must be brought to justice without delay.

The aspirant also called on the government at all levels to strengthen security presence in the affected communities and to work closely with local leaders to prevent further attacks.

She also rallied support for Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, in the fight to secure the state, adding that he has shown courage in ensuring the state’s safety.

“Our people must feel safe in their homes, farms, and marketplaces. Security is the foundation of development, and without it, communities cannot thrive,” she said.

While appealing for calm, Bosua encouraged residents to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with security authorities by providing useful information that could help prevent further violence.

She reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for stronger community protection measures and policies that prioritise the safety and welfare of residents across the constituency.

“Our hearts are with every family that has suffered loss during this painful period.

Together, we must stand united against violence and work toward restoring peace and stability in our communities,” she said.
