Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists yesterday set fire on primary and secondary schools in Kautikari village of Chibok local government area of Borno State, Daily Trust reported.
The newspaper said this came after the pupils of Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School, Askira-Uba, were abducted for almost a month without a trace.
It quoted security sources as saying the terrorists invaded the town around 7pm yesterday.
A source said no casualty was reported at press time, but residents fled into the bush for safety.
Another resident said the terrorists attacked the village months back did not destroy any public or private property.
Police spokesman ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso was unavailable for comment at press time, the paper said.
