American actor Brad Pitt has made his return to cinema screens in the survival drama Heart of the Beast, which premiered in theaters on Friday, September 25, 2026.
The feature marks the actor’s second collaboration with director David Ayer, following their work together on the 2014 war drama Fury.
In the film, Pitt portrays James Belmont, a retired Special Forces veteran who becomes stranded in the Alaskan wilderness following a plane crash alongside his military working dog, Odin. Belmont must endure a 58-mile journey through extreme temperatures and rugged terrain despite suffering a severe medical condition.
The production relies heavily on non-verbal storytelling and visual performance, featuring minimal spoken dialogue throughout its duration.
Early reviews from film critics have been largely favorable, with the feature securing a 92 percent approval score on review aggregator platform Rotten Tomatoes following its release.
