BREAKING: 1 Shot Dead As Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers Of Ekiti Pupils

Suspected abductors of the pupils and staffers of Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Emure Ekiti in Ekiti State, have been apprehended by the operatives of the State Police Command.

Parading the suspects before journalists on Friday evening at the Command headquarters in Ado Ekiti, the Police said one of the suspects, who are nine in number, was shot dead as the gang engaged Policemen in a gun duel.

 

LEADERSHIP reports that the gunmen had on the evening of Monday, January 29, 2024, abducted some schoolchildren and teachers along Emure–Eporo Road while returning to Eporo after closing from school while in the school bus.

The kidnap victims, it would be recalled, were five students, three female teachers and a driver.

The bus driver was later killed by the gunmen, who released the remaining eight persons after a ransom of N15million was allegedly paid by the families of the victims.
