The ruling New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has achieved a sweeping victory in the Kano State’s local government council elections on Saturday, winning all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in the 44 local government areas of the State.
The chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi, announced the results on Saturday night at the commission’s headquarters in Kano.
He disclosed that of the six political parties that participated in the exercise, the NNPP secured all 44 local government chairmanship and 484 councillorship positions.
