Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Utsev, has expressed deep sorrow over former President Muhammadu Buhari’s death, describing him as a towering figure whose legacy of discipline, integrity, and national service would never be forgotten.
In a condolence message issued yesterday in Abuja, Utsev conveyed his sympathy to Buhari’s family and Nigerians on behalf of the entire water sector.
“It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire Buhari family on the passing of their beloved patriarch,” he said.
He hailed the late President as “a symbol of discipline, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the service of Nigeria,” adding that his contributions in both military and civilian leadership remain indelible in Nigeria’s history.
“Former President Buhari inspired generations with his resolute dedication to national development, transparency in governance, and love for our dear country,” the minister stated.
As Nigeria mourns, Utsev joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in paying tribute to the late statesman and expressed prayers for divine strength for his family.
“May God forgive the shortcomings of our dearly departed former President and grant him eternal rest,” he said.
He reaffirmed the water and sanitation sector’s solidarity with the bereaved family, describing Buhari’s passing as the loss of a national icon whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
