The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, ahead of his burial scheduled to take place this Tuesday evening.

The late Nigerian leader’s remains were transported from the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport in Katsina, where they were earlier received by President Bola Tinubu and other high-ranking dignitaries.

The solemn motorcade arrived in Daura under heavy security, as residents lined the streets in mourning, paying their last respects to the man many regarded as a symbol of discipline and integrity in public service.

Buhari’s burial is taking place this evening in accordance with Islamic rites at a private gravesite near his family compound.

Dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond, including traditional rulers, foreign envoys, and top government officials, have converged on Daura to witness the final rites of the late statesman.
