Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Hon. Abba Gana Tata as chairman of the Local Government Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.
The appointment, conveyed through the office of the secretary to the state government, takes immediate effect.
Other members of the committee are Hon. Mustapha Bolibe – member, Hon. Tijani Dugu – member, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi – member, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim – member, Hon. Ali Borko – member, Umar Kukuri – member and Baba Sabo Waziri – secretary.
According to the letter, the committee is mandated to monitor all capital projects executed by the local governments across the state. It will ensure that such projects are carried out in line with approved standards and specifications.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the committee is expected to submit quarterly reports to the government to aid effective supervision, transparency, and accountability in the execution of developmental projects at the grassroots level.
Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that projects undertaken by local governments directly impact citizens’ lives, stressing that monitoring and evaluation are critical to maintaining quality service delivery in the state.
