Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Mohammed Bukar Abba Ibrahim, son of the late Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim, as the new special adviser on local government affairs.
Mohammed, popularly known as Abbati, is the eldest son of the late former governor.
The appointment was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam Wali, and made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
According to the statement, Mohammed had previously served as special adviser on Investment, where he contributed to initiatives that expanded Yobe’s economic opportunities and attracted private sector interest.
Buni’s decision to appoint him is in line with his administration’s deliberate policy of youth inclusion in governance, creating avenues for young leaders to contribute to the growth and development of the state.
Governor Buni has consistently encouraged the participation of young professionals in key decision-making processes, believing that the future of Yobe lies in the creativity, innovation, and resilience of its youth.
The statement added that the appointment takes immediate effect.
