C/River SWAN Chairman Laid To Rest

Remains of late chairman of Cross River State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Albert Andinam (JP) was on Friday laid to rest at his home town Ikot Ushie Town, Calabar, capital of Cross River State.

Andinam died at the age of 61, after rising to the rank of group sports editor with the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation (Chronicles).

Andinam’s body was interred at his home town at Ikot Ushie Community in Calabar, after his body  was first laid  at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre where he once served the state Council of NUJ as secretary of Cross  River State Council of Nigeria Union of journalists to afford journalists in the state bid  their late professional colleague  goodbye.

In his exaltation at the funeral Service in honor of the late sports writer, associate minister in charge of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Hope Waddell Parish, Calabar Very Rev John Abah Vincent  described death as a necessary end that will visit all men irrespective of position social and financial status.

The clergyman charged everyone to go close  to God stressing that it is only God who knows when death will come.
