An armoured cable vandal, James Titus, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment without the option of a fine in Adamawa State.
Titus was jailed for the offence after he was charged with stealing armoured cable at an electricity supply substation in Numan.
The Chief Magistrate Court, Numan presided over by Magistrate Safari Samuel handed out the sentence yesterday.
Communications officer, Blessing Tunor, of Yola Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC, said the theft occurred on August 24, 2024.
YEDC reported that Titus was arrested along the Numan-Jalingo highway while burning the cable to extract the wires for sale to scavengers.
