CAF President Patrice Motsepe has begun his two-day tour of the nations that will host the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship 2025 (CHAN) with a visit to Tanzania yesterday, December 19, 2024.
Dr Motsepe visited Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar on Thursday. He will travel to Kenya and Uganda on Friday where he will meet with the Heads of State and football leadership in the two countries.
In Tanzania, the CAF President visited the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam where he inspected its readiness to host matches in the CHAN competition.
Dr Motsepe thanked Tanzania’s President, Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, for her commitment and support of football development in the country.
Dr Motsepe also met with Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi at the State House.
The CAF President was joined by CAF 4th Vice-President Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Chairperson of the CHAN Organising Committee, Tanzania Football Federation President Wallace Karia and CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.
The delegation will arrive in Nairobi on Friday morning and will meet with Kenya President William Ruto and leadership of Kenya Football Federation.
In the afternoon, he will travel to Kampala, Uganda for a meeting with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni and the leadership of FUFA.
