Canada-Nigeria Investment Summit Heads To Niagara Falls

Merited Negotiation Consulting has formalised a partnership with the Office of the Mayor of Niagara Falls City, Canada, to host the Canada-Nigeria Sustainable Investment and Business Forum Summit 2026 in Niagara Falls.

The summit, scheduled for August–September 2026, will focus on strategic sectors including oil and gas, aviation development, ICT and communications, tourism, urban housing, agriculture, and health infrastructure, according to organisers.

The partnership was confirmed during a meeting held on October 17, 2026, between representatives of Merited Negotiation Consulting and officials of the City of Niagara Falls. At the meeting, Michael Warchala, Manager, Economic Development, City of Niagara Falls, Business Development Department, conveyed the city’s readiness to host the summit, citing Niagara Falls’ investment support systems and incentives available to investors.

Speaking on the significance of the forum, Sammy Atoki, CEO and Contract Facilitator, Canada, said the summit would add diplomatic, trade and investment value to both countries, noting that industry leaders, particularly from the aviation and agriculture sectors, are expected to play key roles.

Also commenting, Dr. Judith Mayen Ogbara, Managing Director, Stallionaire Oil and Gas, expressed optimism that the summit would create tangible benefits for investors in Canada and Nigeria, especially within the oil and gas sector.

The Executive Vice-Chairman of Merited Negotiation Consulting Firm, Kunle Yusuff, described Niagara Falls City as an ideal venue for the summit, pointing to its annual tourist traffic of between 12 and 14 million visitors and its potential for further economic growth.

Yusuff added that the summit is expected to attract participants from multiple sectors, with the Trade Department in Canada as well as Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Foreign Affairs collaborating with Merited Negotiation Consulting to ensure effective coordination.

He further noted that the investment forum aligns with efforts to promote the Diplomatic Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through international engagement and economic cooperation.
