During the celebrations, painters, alumni, and current students participated in refresher training sessions designed to sharpen their expertise and strengthen industry standards. CAP Plc also unveiled the Business Pro Workshop, an advanced programme focused on entrepreneurship, financial management, and digital literacy to help painters scale their businesses and compete effectively in the broader construction ecosystem.

The chief operating officer, CAP, Jethro Iruobe highlighted the Academy as a flagship initiative in CAP Plc’s vision to build human capital and strengthen painters’ professional capabilities.

He said, “marking five years of the CAP Painters Academy is both a celebration of impact and a reminder of the bold vision we set out with. What began as an idea has grown into a nationwide movement that has trained thousands of painters, raised professional standards, and created new opportunities for young Nigerians. While we are proud of the journey so far, this milestone also strengthens our commitment to scale even bigger, ensuring painting is not just a trade but a pathway to dignity, entrepreneurship, and lasting success.”

The representative from the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), Lawani Meka said, “our partnership demonstrates how the private sector can drive professionalization in critical industries. By accrediting the CAP Painters Academy, we are ensuring that painters receive nationally recognized certification that enhances their employability and credibility. CAP’s commitment to building human capital is exemplary, and NABTEB is proud to support this journey.”

The celebrations also featured the announcement of winners of the ‘Paint Your Future: 5-for-5 Challenge’, where painters from across the country received over N1.2 million in growth grants, as well as professional toolkits, branded gear, and exclusive scholarships. These resources will help beneficiaries expand their businesses and set new benchmarks in service delivery within the industry. CAP Plc also presented regional recognition awards to outstanding painters, showcasing their excellence and commitment to professionalism.

Looking ahead, CAP emphasised that the Academy will continue to scale its programmes nationwide and deepen industry collaborations to ensure Nigerian painters are recognized as globally competitive professionals and successful entrepreneurs.

Established in 2019, the CAP Painters Academy was set up with the vision to become the cornerstone of technical and capacity building in Nigeria’s paints and coatings sector.
