As the 2023–24 Premier League season draws to a close, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is preparing for his final appearance in a Red Devils shirt.
The 34-year-old Brazilian international, who joined United from Real Madrid in 2022, will play his last game for the club this weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion on the final day of the league campaign.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Casemiro has made his preferred next destination clear: Inter Miami. The Major League Soccer side, co-owned by David Beckham and home to global icon Lionel Messi, has been in advanced negotiations with the midfielder for several months.
A deal is now expected to be finalised during the upcoming summer transfer window, with Casemiro signing a contract to join the Herons.
The news comes despite a passionate plea from Manchester United supporters, who recently begged the experienced midfielder to stay for at least one more season.
Fans have shown their appreciation for his leadership and trophy-winning pedigree—he helped United lift the Carabao Cup in 2023 but it appears the club is ready to move on as part of a wider squad rebuild.
Casemiro, who amassed five Champions League titles during his decade at Real Madrid, is reportedly eager for a new challenge in the United States, where he would join a star-studded lineup including Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suárez.
His arrival would further elevate Inter Miami’s status as a top destination for elite veterans, while allowing him to wind down his career in a less physically demanding league.
With his departure now all but confirmed, Casemiro will bid farewell to Old Trafford after just two seasons, leaving behind a mixed legacy—brilliant in his debut campaign but hampered by injuries and inconsistent form in his second.
